Welcome to Enterprise Pathfinder

TEN Cornish secondary schools working with Cornwall EBP have been chosen to take part in an exciting new Enterprise Education Pathfinder Initiative which will see each school receiving more than £40,000 from the Department for Education and Skills over the next two years.

The initiative was officially launched at the Headland Hotel in Newquay on 24th November 2003. Steve Vosper, Chair of Cornwall EBP Board, Former Managing Director of E. Thomas Construction (Mowlems) gave the Keynote speech followed by the presentation of a cheque for £442,500 to Gary Durbin, Assistant Headteacher and Business & Education Manager for Treviglas Community College (a Business & Enterprise Specialist School) and Lead School for The Enterprise Pathfinder Initiative by Doris Ansari, Cornwall County Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Geoff Aver, Cornwall’s Director of Education, Arts and Libraries.

The official launch was attended by local Business Representatives and students from each of the 10 schools. The students presented their business ideas, developed as part of an Innovation and Enterprise Day, to Venture Capitalists and the winning “company” was awarded a contract to develop their idea!
